ready to move

xMoving boxesBecause so many people buy houses in the spring, May has been designated National Moving Month.

If you are moving or preparing to put your house on the market, you probably need a lot of cardboard boxes.

Buying boxes and using them once doesn’t seem to be a good use of money or resources, so you might look at craigslist, freecycle or a neighborhood bulletin board if you want to find or offer used packing material.

If the idea of re-using boxes appeals to you, but you’re concerned about the condition of the boxes, you can order “gently used” boxes from Used Cardboard Boxes.com. The company claims to inspect every box and they ship free.

When you want new boxes, you can buy them from Home Depot, Staples and other stores. Not sure how many boxes you need? Buy from UHaul and they buy back any boxes that you end up not using.

Moving is stressful, but you don’t have to do it alone – a professional organizer and moving company can reduce the pressure of decision making and handling all the details.
