According to Prevent Blindness America, 96% of people believe that good vision is crucial to overall quality of life. People who are blind or partially sighted experience challenges in transportation, work and accomplishing basic tasks at home.

Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of vision loss in adults over the age of 65. My mother has struggled with low vision caused by AMD for over 5 years and I have watched her quality of life decline along with her eyesight.

February is Low Vision Month. If you experience low vision, there are products that allow you to make the most of your remaining sight. Reducing clutter at work and at home contributes to a safer environment for people with vision loss. Before you purchase gadgets to help you live more comfortably, make sure that you have space to use them safely.
